Engineering Status Report

  • Alpha/Beta/Gamma Team A has finished their work on the warp core. It is now running at an optimal state.
  • A/B/G Team B has been diligently working within Main Engineering and our output continues to thrive at 98%.
  • Gamma Team C has finished the upgrades to the crew quarters. The results have been extremely well received.
  • Beta Team C has finished the upgrades to the holodecks. The results are more than was expected. They did a fine job.
  • A/B/G Team A finished their work on the damaged nacelle, it’s in working order now.
  • Alpha Team C has finished their work on the deuterium injectors.
Coming up next and continuing work:
  • A/B/G Primary has been working on the environmental controls. We don’t know why they are malfunctioning so badly. Every time we believe we have solved it, another issue comes up. Rest assured, they are working round the clock to fix it.
  • A/B Teams A and C will be doing more upgrades to the replicators. Several requests have been made for a “relaxing bouquet” among other things.
  • A/B/G Team B will be continuing their work with Main Engineering to make sure our engines keep their output at high levels.
  • Gamma Team C will be doing repairs on our transporters. We will try to keep a schedule of repair when they are not being used as much, the schedule will be posted for all crew to see and adapt their transporting needs accordingly.
  • Gamma Team A will be doing some major upgrades to Fleet Captain Knotts’ quarters to make it easier and more accessible for him to work with our fleets.
Respectfully submitted, LTJG J. Bender Chief Engineer

First Officer’s Log – Mission: Archaeology Fleet One

The following is a report based on the events witnessed on the mission titled Archaeology fleet one On stardate 95714.68 we received orders to report to the binary star system for a standard salvage of the disabled and antiquated ship USS Shenzhou NCC-1227. Our mission specifics were to retrieve the vessel and chart the battlefield for archaeological study and proper processing. We were instructed to rendezvous with 2 other federation starships at Gamma Hydrae, the USS Enterprise NCC-1701-E and the USS Voyager NCC-74656. To arrive at our destination and to shorten time in Romulan space, we used trans warp drive. Upon our arrival, Our crew was to be dived with FCAPT Knotts, CWO5 Knotts, CMDR D. Taylor MD, LTJG Anzaldi, and myself reporting to the USS Enterprise. FCAPT Knotts was ordered to take command upon his arrival. LCDR Brunelle, LTJG Bender, CWO5 Anzaldi, and the remainder of the science division were stationed to the USS Voyager. LCDR Brunelle was to assume executive officer position upon her arrival. The rest of the crew was to remain on the USS.Narragansett with CMDR. J. Taylor in command and LT. Griffin to assume executive officer duties. We were given the following course and heading for this rendezvous (see attached map 1). Once we had divided among the three ships we hailed ahead to a small detachment fleet that was stationed at starbase 247 under the command of Admiral William Riker. Once contacted we secured our departure path to the wreckage site. While in route we detected several Borg vessels investigating our transwarp signatures. We utilized the cloaking devices on our ship wait until they had passed by. Once the Borg threat was gone we proceeded to the Shenzhou. Once arriving we became aware that not only was the ship not disheveled as we were brought to understand. It was in fact functioning and updated with the latest technology the federation has to offer. Upon inspection of the ship we found its shields up and it weapons also operational. It also was streaming a highly encoded message stream back towards space station Titan 1. We slowed our approach to the ship which triggered an automated defense system that made interfacing with the computer or boarding her a challenge. It was at this time we preformed a data stream analysis to decipher the coding used in the message. We were able to find that the code was the same on utilized by Admiral Janeway in her coded transmission of our orders. We at this time decided to utilize the voyager E.M.H. The plan was to recode him into the message with our orders and in an operation called “piggybacking” send him to the Shenzhou’s main computer via the receiving data stream. Once received, he would at that time, lower the defenses and shielding allowing us to board her. An away team was assembled and dispatched. Once the ship was secured and defensive systems were lowered, we were able to safely board her. Upon lowering her defenses, the ship appeared to send out a massive data burst and what we could only assume was a signal beacon signal directed back to headquarters in sol sector. Once we boarded her we found that she had been updated fully with what was indeed modern technology, computer, and weapons. Shortly after securing her the Borg once again came to the far corner of the system, only this time in a large force. Before we could act or respond we began to detect mycelial energy feed off. In seconds a focusing of this energy appeared in multiple points around the Borg fleets and appeared to be causing damage with each appearance. Within moments the Borg retreated. Seconds later the starship USS Discovery NCC-1031 came out of mycelial drive in front of the fleet. She appeared abandoned and to be running off automation programs. At this time an away team was assembled and the decision to board her was made. The away team consisted of: FCAPT Knotts CWO5 Knotts CAPT Anzaldi For the official record, FCPT. Knotts’s assignment to the away team did receive protest from myself in accordance with general starfleet away team protocols. This protest was dismissed. The away exam boarded the USS. DISCOVERY. Upon our arrival we discovered that this ship was indeed also updated with top of the line technology. We proceeded to main engineering. Upon our arrival there we discovered what was being used as the ships mycelial network navigator. We found a dismembered and disconnected Borg drone corpse hooked into the navigational uplink diodes. An announcement at this time began to broadcast asking for a captain. At this time again, though advised strongly against, FCAPT Knotts announced himself to the computer. Myself and CWO5 Knotts were beamed off of the ship and back to the enterprise. The Discovery’s spore drive activated and the ship left the area with the fleet captain still onboard. Shortly after this a hail was sent to the reserve fleet. At this time the starship Voyager began to malfunction. Her ship began to send False reports of systems malfunctions, and engine failures. The crew found themselves unable to correct the malfunctions. Her command staff was at this time alerted to a pending self destruct count. In an attempt to disable the computer core, the USS Narragansett used controlled phaser fire to target and disable the onboard conduits controls for the main computer. This failed to stop the computers. The crew was notified of a warp core breach in progress. At this time with what appeared to be no options left, in effort to save the ship the warp core was ejected and detonated. This action attracted the attention of the Klingons, and Romulan that were nearby. In efforts to avoid sabotage, the Klingon representatives we were transporting were detained and measures that will not be mentioned here were taken. The ships came under attack and were damaged heavily. It has been reported that a voice announcing our failure was heard. At this time the discovery returned and we were made aware that this was not the actual mission, rather a training exercise for the mission to gauge our actions and responses. We were ordered to return to sol sector to be debriefed and our ships fit with new gear to preform the mission more adequately. Once home we were brought to understand the true nature of our mission. The USS Shenzhou was indeed still functioning as an it intelligence gathering method, with the USS Discovery there as her security system. It was fitted with holoemmiters o give the appearance of a defunct, and damaged wreck. It was our task to retrieve her without any of our neighbors being made aware of our target’s true nature. To help with this, weapons upgrades to all three ships were done, along with spore drives being installed and navigated by the same system as that we found on the USS Discovery. Unbeknownst to us at this time was a far greater problem. A problem quickly hinted upon by a brief meeting with the being known as “Q”. My memory of this meeting is unclear, and what i can recall is cryptic at best. All i can clearly remember is an apocalyptic warning. Q also visited the other ships and their commanders. Playing his usual games with them i would assume. When our ships were finished, we departed on our attempt of the mission. At this time the events that occurred have been dubbed classified by Starfleet and be withheld from this report but can and will be provided vocally upon inquiry. We utilized the new spore drives to reach our destination in gamma hydrae The Borg navigators began to wake up and scream as if in pain, on other ships they began to speak cryptically. This soon stopped. It is here that my memory of events begins to break down from an effect that this report will later explain. This effect also began to provide us visitors not of our timeline. In the Enterprise’s infirmary doctor Lenard McCoy appeared and rather disoriented. It was at this time it became clear what may be the greater goings on. That through some way, the Borg had infiltrated the network and time and space had begun to breakdown. This was a theory i chose not to disclose to the crew at this time due to the lack of evidence. The next morning we began the mission once again. The scenario of the first day was similar to our procedure. We cloaked and proceeded to secure the USS Shenzhou. Once again the discovery appeared and sent out message. From here my memory is unclear. This being a result of myself and the crew having relived this moment countless times. From what i was brought to understand is that time was breaking down caused by the introduction of the Borg into the mycelial network. From flashes of memory. Our second attempt was met once again with Borg resistance and a visit from Q. The crews of the ship were taken this time and shown a future which had been assimilated by the Borg and the ships were destroyed. Time was once again reset to the point of our arrival. Q joined he crew as a human being. The mission proceeded again. This time the fleet captain was once again taken and the enterprise left in pursuit. From this point my memory blinks out and my recollection is very hazy. My next memory can not be stated in this report. All information from this point is deemed classified. A report on the events can be given orally via request from an authorized party. Mission was deemed a success. The Borg were removed from the network. For additional information, please reference classified files on Genesis Planet events.

After Action Report

Things were going pretty well until FCPT Knotts made the decision to join the away team against the advice of the Chief Archeologist, A-CMDR Brunelle and myself. After that, things went from bad to worse. All ships should have immediately changed their command codes and locked out FCPT Knotts. This did not occur to anyone until after the computers began malfunctioning. There were several computer glitches that were not found because we failed to verify that the information presented was correct by checking with our departments. I fired on USS Voyager when she requested that we help in disabling her secondary command processors. I did not think about the ramifications of that action. I made a quick call and it was the wrong decision. I wanted to help, but I should have trusted A-CMDR Brunelle to think her way out of the situation and gave her suggestions instead of acting rashly. We failed to look at the contents of the Klingon distress call. We don’t even know that the Klingon Ships weren’t there to help. Some ships failed to interact with their NPC Klingon characters which arose their suspicions. I will say that for the situation to be believable, the NPC Klingons should have reached out to the Bridge and demanded to be told what was going on, rather than sending out a distress call. Only if ignored should they have sent a distress signal. My ship used anesthetine gas to subdue the Klingons. This was uncalled for. I did not object because I was pissed that they sent a distress call, and I had every intention of moving them to the holodeck while they slept and modifying the memory of the two that were not already asleep. Was it the best way to deal with the situation? Probably not. Would it have worked? Probably

Treaty Violations

This report represents a preliminary view of treaties violated as I still have further research to do but may finish conducting before the present mission resumes. The violation that a number of us should be held to account for is the Treaty of Alliance. The violation as a result of gassing/intoxicating the  Klingons was in many ways no different then what the Dominion did in 2372. The Dominion manipulated the Klingons into invading the Cardassian Union. We used substances to manipulate the Klingons into unconsciousness so that they would be unaware of our mission. The Romulans were condemned by the Federation and we deserve no less. If nothing else it was a violation in spirit as it is morally wrong to deceive an ally. While I am certain that other treaties and protocols broken I started with this one since we currently have Klingons as guests on our ships and should seek to work with them where possible.
